Everything a platform user needs to know about creating experiences, delivery, reporting and analytics.

Creating, delivering, and reporting

Everything you need to know when creating your first Makeshapes experience

Design your first experience

Try out an experience as your hosts and learners will see it, with or without simulated learners, without saving any data.

Preview an experience

Set up the emails learners receive after a session, include their own responses as dynamic data, and attach files.

Post-experience email sequence

Publish an experience, choose its link, share it with your hosts and learners, and publish changes later.

Publish and share an experience

Just getting started or need some detailed documentation?

Creating an experience

How to structure your experience's agenda in the Content tab — adding, arranging, and refining sections and activities.

Shape your experience

Capture the key outcome, style, audience and learning objectives behind an experience in its Shape experience brief.

Define your experience brief

Combos are ready-made groupings of activities you can drop into a new section as a starting point, then tweak.

Shaping an experience

Every activity you can add to a Makeshapes experience, and what each one helps the group do.

Types of activities

A full list of activities and their descriptions

Activities and interactions

Play an audio file for the whole group, shown as an animated orb with an optional avatar, or as large captions.

Audio activity

Turn written text into a narrated audio file, choose a voice, and save it to your media library.

Generate audio with text-to-speech

Play an uploaded, YouTube or Vimeo video for the whole group, and keep it short with activities in between.

Video activity

Tools to communicate key ideas and information

Media

Learners rate a statement on a scale, and the group sees who answered what, so the discussion can be open.

Rate activity

Learners answer multiple-choice questions, see the correct answers together, and can compete on an optional leaderboard.

Quiz activity

Set up a Task so learners do something real, mark it done and share a post-it, then bring it back to the group to discuss.

Task activity

Learners write a private note, such as a commitment to act on, and it's emailed to them after the session.

Note activity

Collect individual answers from learners with scale and text questions that aren't shared with the rest of the group.

Survey activity

Learners pick one prompt from a shuffled set on their phone and share it with the group on a post-it.

Select activity

Learners rate statements on a scale anonymously, and the group sees its average and spread, a safe way to start a discussion.

Scales activity

Learners choose one option on their phone, and the group sees the results grow as circles or a bar chart, anonymously.

Poll activity

Learners each submit a few words, and the group sees the most common ones grow larger in a live word cloud.

Word Cloud activity

Learners each write a short thought on a post-it that the whole group sees, so every voice is heard equally.

Post-it activity

Learners draw a picture on their phone and share it with the group, a fun way to break the ice or share ideas without words.

Drawing activity

Learners vote for their favorite responses from an earlier Post-it or Select activity, and the group sees which ones stand out.

Vote activity

Play a series of images with narration for the whole group, and turn the pages of a PDF into slides in a few clicks.

Slideshow activity

Tools to engage and give every participant a voice

Activities

Give the group time to talk through what they've learned, with a prompt on the shared screen and an optional expert tip.

Discussion activity

Give learners quiet time to think through what they've learned and what it means for them, without having to share it.

Reflection activity

Tools for creating space for discussion and reflection

Discussion and Reflection

Several people can edit an experience at the same time. Here's what you see when a teammate is editing it too.

What multi-language covers, what it doesn't, and how to tell whether your organization has it.

How multi-language experiences work

Set the languages when you create an experience, change them later in Settings, or set defaults for your whole organization.

Choose languages for an experience

Translate every field in an experience side by side, track what's still missing, and hand work to an external translator with XLIFF.

Work in the Translation tab

Machine-translate an experience, keep hand-written wording safe, and stay on top of translations that fall out of date.

Auto-translate your content

Add the names and jargon that should always come out exactly as written, in translations and in subtitles.

Protect key terms with safe words

Add a separate video, image or document for each language, and check which languages still fall back to the English file.

Use media in other languages

Translate the subject lines and bodies of your email sequence, and know which language each learner receives.

Translate post-experience emails

Generate an AI-dubbed audio track for a video, and understand what it costs before you start.

Dub audio into other languages

How the session language is chosen, what everyone sees, and what happens where a translation is missing.

This prototype demo is aware that you are reading “{title}”. It can point you back to the current article, but a production article-aware Fin contract is still follow-up work.

Prototype article-aware answer

Because you already asked about invitations, this prototype demo can add the follow-up: use the role selector before sending each invite to limit access to the teammate responsibilities.

Prototype role-limiting follow-up

This prototype demo suggests starting with your workspace profile, inviting the team members who need access, and then connecting the integrations you use.

Prototype getting-started answer

In this prototype demo, integrations are configured from workspace settings. Choose the integration, connect the account, and review the enabled permissions.

Prototype integrations answer

In this prototype demo, invite teammates from workspace settings, then choose the access each teammate needs before sending the invitation.

Prototype invite-team answer

This prototype demo does not have a scripted answer for that question yet. Try asking how to invite your team or open a source article. No production Fin API was called.
