Preview your experience at any time to test it, find mistakes, and train your hosts. A preview shows exactly what your learners and hosts will see, but no data from it is saved in your reporting.
Open a preview
In the editor, click Preview. The Preview options dialog opens, where you choose how to preview.
Standard Preview
To walk through the experience as your hosts and learners will see it, click Standard Preview. While you're in a preview, a dark bar reads: "This is for preview or training experiences only - your data will not be saved."
To share a preview with colleagues or stakeholders for review, click the copy button next to Standard Preview.
You can also preview any experience by adding /preview to the end of its web address. For example, if your experience's address is https://app.makeshapes.com/s/acme/abc-def-ghi, its preview is at https://app.makeshapes.com/s/acme/abc-def-ghi/preview.
Preview with Simulation
A simulated preview lets you test your experience with pretend learners, so you don't need to find real people or open several browser tabs.
In the Preview options dialog, you can set:
Simulated participants: the number of pretend learners, from 1 to 100. They join automatically and respond to activities throughout the experience.
Start at current activity: select this to start at the activity you're editing, instead of at the beginning. This helps when you're refining an activity late in your experience.
Then click Preview with Simulation. During a simulated preview, the dark bar reads: "This is a simulated preview - your data will not be saved."
Tips
Use Standard Preview to walk through the experience yourself, or copy its link to share with colleagues or stakeholders for review.
Use Preview with Simulation to see how activities look with learners' answers filled in, or to test one activity without clicking through the whole experience.
Previews don't save data or send post-experience sequences, such as follow-up emails.
If you have unsaved changes, a snapshot is automatically created before the preview launches.
