πŸ“ indicates changes to the creator/admin experience

February 2026

  • πŸ“βœ¨ Dynamic data in the email editor now supports Rate, Quiz, Poll, Word Cloud, and Select activities. Note, Post-it, and Task also now support group responses. The menu has been redesigned with a 2-column icon grid, and each response block includes a Participant/Group toggle.

  • πŸ“ New Preview email button (eye icon) lets creators preview emails with placeholder data. Individual response blocks also have an info button to preview that block's output.

  • πŸ“ When another user is editing an email sequence, creators now see a Take over editing button instead of being locked out.

  • πŸ“ Response blocks in the email editor have updated visual styling and layout.

  • πŸ“ Creators can now add images to participant device content for most activities, making it easier to build visually rich experiences.

  • πŸ“ Creators can now set up content faster by syncing what's on the participant display from the group view.

  • πŸ“ Creators can now preview experiences with simulated participants. The new Preview Options setting lets creators configure simulated participants and deep link directly to the activity being edited. This makes it much faster to test how activities look with mock data without manual testing.

  • πŸ“βœ¨ The technical test system has been completely overhauled with comprehensive diagnostics. The new tech check tests internet speed, device performance, video streaming, real-time collaboration, and API connectivity. Results include a clear verdict with specific remediation steps, and results can be shared with IT teams via a generated link.

  • ✨ Host onboarding is now easier than ever. Hosts can scroll down on host registration to find helpful information, an interactive Teams walkthrough, and more. Or send it to hosts directly: app.makeshapes.com/technical-test/host

  • ✨ There is now a submit bug report button on the pause screen that allows hosts to capture diagnostics and send them directly to support β€” all without leaving the experience.

  • πŸ“ A simple IT setup reference guide with domain whitelisting and network requirements is now available.

  • πŸ“ Activities that support showing earlier responses (Discussion, Note, Reflection, and Vote) now let creators choose which earlier activity to pull from using a new dropdown, rather than being limited to the immediately preceding activity. The dropdown lists all eligible activities across all sections, making it easier to build on earlier work anywhere in the experience.

  • πŸ“ Creators can now show or hide section and activity ID numbers in the experience editor, making it easier to identify and reference specific activities.

January 2026

  • πŸ“βœ¨ Creators can now Task activities . Participants can check off a "task" as an activity, making it easier to guide learners through multi-step processes like preparation steps, equipment setup, or follow-up action items.

  • πŸ“βœ¨ The email editor now supports Task activity blocks. Include task completion status and participant notes in your follow-up emails, showing who completed tasks (βœ”οΈ) and any notes they submitted.

  • πŸ“βœ¨ Creators now have more control over how poll results are displayed. Choose between circle charts (great for showing proportions at a glance) or bar charts (better for comparing specific values across options).

  • πŸ“ We've added smarter email validation when adding participants. This catches typos and invalid email formats, increasing the likelihood of quality email addresses in attendance reports and helping the participant get their post-experience email.

  • ✨ Fixed a bug where participants had difficulty advancing past audio activities that failed to load.

  • ✨ Emails have had a design refresh.
