Select activity

Learners pick one prompt from a shuffled set on their phone and share it with the group on a post-it.

Written by Cody Iddings

In a Select activity, each learner sees a set of prompts on their phone, in a random order, and chooses one to share with the group on a post-it. You can add as many prompts as you like, but each learner chooses only one.

Tip: Follow a Select with a discussion, so learners can say why they chose the prompt they did, or with a Vote, so the group can pick the responses that matter most.

Note: Select responses can be included in follow-up emails as dynamic data, showing each learner's choice or the group's.

How to add a Select activity

  1. In the section you want, click Add content > View all activities…, and then choose Select.

  2. On the group canvas, add a headline and description to prompt the group. We recommend adding an Audio introduction too. It plays at the start of the activity.

  3. Under Participant device, write the question learners answer on their phone.

  4. Add a prompt in each field. To add another, click the plus button. To copy or remove a prompt, hover over it and click Duplicate or Delete.

  5. Optional: Under Background Music, choose the music that plays while learners choose.

  6. Optional: To add an expert tip, which is a short audio clip that gives learners an extra prompt, click Choose audio tip.

When to use the Select activity

  • When you have a set of options you want learners to choose from.

  • When you want to spark ideas with a large set of prompts that learners wouldn't think of on their own.

Reporting

  • The report shows the prompt each learner selected, as plain text.
