In a Quiz activity, learners answer multiple-choice questions on their phone, see the correct answer, and then talk about it as a group. It helps reinforce key concepts and starts a discussion about why an answer is right.
Note: Quiz responses can be included in follow-up emails as dynamic data, showing each learner's score or the group's results.
How to add a Quiz activity
In the section you want, click Add content > View all activities…, and then choose Quiz.
To edit a question, click Open next to it, and then enter the question.
Enter an answer in each option field. Each question starts with four options, and can have up to eight.
Optional: To add an option, click Add option. To remove one, click the minus button next to it.
Under Answer type, choose Single answer or Multi answer, and then select the correct answer in its option field. With Multi answer, you can select more than one.
Optional: To give the question visual context, click Choose image.
Optional: Under Audio introduction, add audio that plays at the start of the question. Under Audio on answer, add audio that plays when the correct answer is shown.
To add another question, click Add another quiz question. We recommend grouping similar questions in the same Quiz activity. To delete a question, click Remove question next to it.
Quiz options
The options panel has these settings:
Time allocated: calculated automatically from the time per question. Discussion time is added only when Auto-progress with a timer is selected.
Background Music: choose the music that plays while learners answer, to set the tone for the activity.
Time per question: under More settings, choose how long learners have to answer each question. For quick questions, we recommend 30 seconds. Harder questions might need longer. The correct answer shows when everyone has answered or the time runs out.
Discussion time: after the correct answer shows, the group can discuss it. To move on automatically, select Auto-progress with a timer, and then choose a time from 15 seconds to 3 minutes. Otherwise, the host moves on when the group is ready.
Show leaderboard: ranks learners by their quiz scores and shows the ranking at the end of the quiz. Correct answers earn points, and faster answers earn more.
Note: Leaderboard scores can add up across all the quizzes in an experience. To choose, select or clear Leaderboard scores are cumulative in the experience settings. For more information, see Managing experience settings.
When to use the Quiz activity
To reinforce key concepts from the session.
To check what the group understands and find where more explanation is needed.
To start a discussion, by comparing answers and talking about why an answer is right or wrong.
Reporting
The report shows the answers each learner chose, as plain text, separated by commas when a question has more than one correct answer. The report also shows the correct answer under each question.

FAQ
Is there a limit to the number of questions in a quiz? No. You can add as many questions as you need to cover the learning objectives.
Can the quiz auto-progress? The quiz always shows the correct answer when the time runs out or everyone has answered. To move on to the next question automatically after that, select Auto-progress with a timer in the options panel.
Can I use a video instead of an image? No. You can't add a video to a quiz question. Add a Video activity before the quiz instead.
Do I have to add a discussion activity after the quiz? To discuss the quiz as a whole, we recommend adding a Discussion activity after it. Each question already has time to discuss its answer. To keep things moving, select Auto-progress with a timer and choose a short discussion time, such as 15 seconds.
