On a single scale, anonymous responses are averaged and displayed on a scale of 1-10 for each question. Scales are a great activity when you want a safe way for the group to compare responses. By visualising responses anonymously in the form of the average rating and distribution of the group, this activity is a great way to spark meaningful discussion.

How to add Scales:

  1. Add a “Scales” activity to your desired section

  2. Add a headline and description to prompt the group. We also recommend uploading an “Audio introduction” that supports the text on screen. Audio intros play at the beginning of the activity.

  3. Add the survey questions below that show up on the participant’s device. Click on the plus to add more, with a max of 4. There is an option in settings to have shortened or different text on the group canvas.

  4. Adjust the scale text to match your questions.

  5. Choose your atmospheric background audio that plays while participants are choosing their response.

  6. Provoking complex or deep thoughts? Add an optional “Audio tip” to give participants an extra prompt to provoke further.

When to use the Scales activity:

  • Use a scale to anonymously determine group opinions on a continuum or scale

  • Use a scale to show the distribution of ratings in the group to highlight diversity of opinion

  • Use a scale to average to determine general opinion and alignment

Reporting:

  • The data appears as numeric from 1 thru 10 in the report. All reporting data is anonymous.
