Pausing an experience helps the host and the group pause, see what's coming up, get help, or manage the session.

How to pause an experience

To pause, click the Pause button on the top right, use the keyboard shortcut [p] or [spacebar], or tap pause on your host controls.

Access the full agenda

On the left side of the screen you will see the full agenda, which includes the estimated time remaining and the title and time duration of each section.

Rejoining or joining late

If anyone comes late or accidentally drops off, not to worry. Get them to register using the QR code or URL and they will be joined with the team again in no time.

Change host

Click the three dots next to a participant name and you can give them "host controls". This will move the host controls from your phone to their phone. This is especially useful if you need to step out. Note: We currently do not support changing the group device at this time.

Remove a participant

If you need to remove a participant for whatever reason, click the three dots next to a participant name and remove them from the session. They can always rejoin later. Note: If the participant is planning on coming back, we recommend they "take a break" on their device. More on that here.

Share the group view without sharing your screen (group view mirror)

If the group is doing the experience online and there is too much lag while sharing screen (or sharing screen is not working), hosts can share a link to the group view for participants to engage in. This mirrors the group view.

  1. To share, copy the link in the session under "Share your screen and audio". The link looks something like this: app.makeshapes.com/sh/1234

  2. Ensure that all participants are muted when watching the videos and only unmute during discussions.

  3. Participants that are watching the mirror won't be able to use any of the host controls or pause the session.

Pause the session for another day

Can’t finish the experience in one session? Follow instructions to receive an email with a link to continue the session on another day or a different device.

Restart the session

If the group needs to go back to the beginning, the host can restart the entire experience in the pause menu. This should only be used when necessary and as a last resort.

Access help

Some Frequently Asked Questions are available during the session and a link to click into our knowledge-base. If the host needs technical help during the session, click here.
