Sometimes learners need to take a break, whether it's to take an external call, use the restroom, or get some fresh air. Makeshapes lets them step out without holding up the group.
While a learner is on a break, they aren't counted among the learners the session waits for, so the rest of the group carries on as normal.
How to take a break
On your phone, tap Take a break. You'll see "You're on a break!"
When you're back, tap Resume to rejoin the group.
If you closed the tab, join again with the session's QR code or link, using the same email address.
Note: The host can't take a break. To step out, hand host controls to someone else first (Grant host controls), then take a break.
