Videos are a great way to engage an audience and present knowledge. While the videos can be “unlimited” length, we recommend shorter, bitesize videos (e.g. <5 min) with engaging or insightful activities in between.

How to add a video:

Add a “Video” activity to your desired section by either uploading a video or adding a video from Vimeo or YouTube.

  1. For upload: Just add the video file to the upload area. It may take a few minutes to upload and process. Once processing is completed, you can return to the activity and add the video.

  2. For YouTube: It's as simple as grabbing the URL and dropping it in. Once you do, click "Add to my Videos" then select it in your library, and add to your experience.

  3. For Vimeo: You need the URL with just the “Vimeo ID” after Vimeo.com. Your Vimeo ID is often found within the Vimeo URL. For example, the final URL to drop in would look like: https://vimeo.com/140655611. Once you drop in the URL, click "Add to my Videos" then select it in your library, and add to your experience.

If you are using Vimeo or YouTube, each video you use needs to be publicly available. You can adjust this in the settings of the video.

  • On YouTube, in your visibility settings of YouTube Studio, ensure the video is either 'Unlisted' or 'Public' and not set to 'Private'.

  • For Vimeo, in your privacy settings on your video, choose 'Public' or 'Hide from Vimeo' (This option is only available for paid accounts).

After you have added a video, you can add a headline and description. Note: This is only seen by the viewers when the video is paused. The duration of the video is automatically calculated and shown on the field on the right panel.

When to use video:

  • When presenting a new idea or piece of content

  • To re-engage the group on a topic

  • To present an idea from a knowledge expert
