Easily accessing key controls during a session is essential. To keep things simple, we surface host controls on the group view and on your mobile device (handy for moving around the room without staying tethered to your laptop). We also offer keyboard shortcuts for each control for those who prefer using a keyboard.

Note: At this stage, there is no way to see host controls on your device and not be a registered participant in the session.

Pausing the session may be important to give participants a break or a time to discuss. To pause or unpause the session:

Easily mute or unmute the session at a click of a button. To toggle sound on or off:

Most of the time, the experience progresses automatically as you complete activities or click the "Next" button, which appears on both the group view and host controls. If you need to navigate back to a previous activity or skip forward at any stage, you can use the following keyboard shortcuts.

Skipping forward and back moves between whole activities. Inside a slideshow or a quiz you can also move one slide or one question at a time.

Note: the up and down arrows currently run opposite ways in a slideshow and a quiz — up moves forward through slides, but back through questions. We're making these consistent. The plain left and right arrows in a slideshow, and [shift] + [→] / [shift] + [←] for skipping between activities, work the same way everywhere.

With fullscreen, immerse participants into the full experience, losing the Makeshapes chrome on the left and top. To toggle fullscreen on and off:

Host controls only appear when the host registers with the same email address. Also, they need to have completed the activity before opening the controls.
